A sign on the door of Earl Hamner's office reads: "Work is for people who don't know how to fish,"

Ray Castor recently visited with Jane and Caroline Hamner at Earl's office in Studio City, CA.
With heavy hearts, the Hamner family wished to find a loving home for Earl's fish
collection, so they have bequeathed a small portion of his collection was to be auctioned
off.  It was supposed to have been the weekend during the banquet on Saturday, March 25th.  Due to the unexpected crowd earlier in the day everything got delayed so the auction had to be postponed.  Proceeds will be used as seed money for The Waltons 50th Anniversary.

Earl Hamner's happiest fishing grounds were on the Rockfish River in his home town
of Schuyler, Virginia where he first learned to fish with his father during the Great
Depression of the 1930's. His collection was dear to him, and the Hamner family
would like to share and pass on Earl's love of fishing.

This AMAZING Hand Carved Waltons House will also be auctioned off.  Carved by Randy Martin
